The quality and musicianship of the band is impeccable, and I can’t fault the talent that these guys have. I will be keeping a close eye on ShadowQuest in the future, and listening to Armoured IV Pain, their first release.
Well, what is there to say about Alestorm? They’re a bit like Marmite, people either love them or hate them, and they’re a little bit silly. If you’re a hard core metal elistist who has a traditional view on how metal should be, this is probably not the album for you.
Alestorm have provided us with EXACTLY the kind of album we need during this quite horrible time in the world today!
My only issue? There’s not enough music! If you enjoy traditional style power metal that’s catchy, then Fellowship are a band to keep an eye on!
To War shows that the music of Red Rum has matured with a heavier sound and many more layers to the instrumentals, but it still has the core of Red Rum in its heart.
It’s rare that I find albums I will go back to again and again to listen in their entirety, but I have a feeling that this self-titled album release from Firewind could be one of those rare few.
Tales is a nice, short listen, which is sometimes a nice change from 1 hour + albums which do require a lot of mental energy to follow and take note of the many, many elements involved in the mix. Grimgotts provides some simple, yet effective power metal which is easy to listen to.
