Vanir are definitely a band I should have taken the time to listen to earlier. I really enjoyed this album, and I look forward to getting a chance to give their back catalogue a proper listen.

Atorc – Under The Raven Banner
There is a lot of potential in Atorc, I just feel that they need to iron out those few creases before they can truly launch into the more international folk metal community.
Dwarrowdelf – Of Dying Lights
There is clearly a lot of thought and creativity that goes into creating a Dwarrowdelf album, and for anyone that is a fan of atmospheric black metal, I would definitely recommend keeping an eye on what Dwarrowdelf is up to in the future.
Sorcières – Sombres Danses
Sorcières are able to create an atmosphere with their music already, and the ability to keep one repeating melody throughout a track is not something that you see very often nowadays, and I really enjoy it. I look forward to hearing what more Sorcières are able to bring to life in the future.
Aonia – The Seven
The composition is wonderful, Jo and Melissa’s vocals are absolutely flawless and incredible to listen to, and live they put on a magnificent performance. I will definitely be taking another opportunity to see them live in the future, and I would suggest that if symphonic metal is your kind of thing, that you should do the same.
Ancient Bards – Origine (The Black Crystal Sword Saga Pt. 2)
I do appreciate the skill and thought that has gone into the music, and that there will be a lot of people who will really enjoy this. I really do look forward to seeing Ancient Bards live at Power Metal Quest Fest.
Wolfhorde – Hounds of Perdition

Haggefugg – Fass zum Teufel
I am definitely going to try and catch them at Wacken Winter Nights, as from what I can hear the live performance is likely to evoke more feeling, and of course, you can’t have a jig pit while sitting on a bus listening to this album on the way to work…
Lex Talion – Sons of Chaos
The album tells a story, not only through the lyrics but through the instrumentals as well. There are highs and lows in the music as an epic battle or war seems to take place throughout the tracks of the album.
Teshaleh – Born of Fire
Despite the fact the album doesn’t really flow well for me personally, the actual composition of the individual tracks is really good. If a future full-length release is in the works, I would like to see some more consistent themes in the instrumentals.
Warkings – Reborn
There was such a hype on social media before this debut was released the for me it didn’t quite hit impossibly high standard. However, it is a damn good album!

With keys adding cheese, soaring vocals, guitar solos, singalong choruses, and a power ballad, it has all the ingredients you need for one hell of a power metal banger.
Skálmöld – Sorgir
Sorgir will not only appeal to the die hard Skálmöld fans, but also to those who may not have heard much of their music before and are into the more traditional metal sound.
Vorgrum – Party in the Deep
If you want to have a folk metal workout, stick this album on and dance around for 45 minutes, it’s the perfect folk metal party in an album!
North Hammer – Stormcaller
Overall it’s a great folk metal album, and if you like your folk metal on the heavier side it’s definitely an album you need to check out, and North Hammer is definitely a band you need to keep your eye on!
Iahsari – Shrine of the Ancient Gods
If you like your tracks with long instrumentals, then this is definitely an album you want to be checking out, and a band you want to be keeping an eye on in the future.
Arkona – Khram
This album keeps you on edge, you don’t know what to expect, but it all fits together.
